In the evening of December 13th, 2004, a brand new server (the third such server to bear the name “Teacup”) went online. With this new server, the LOSURS mailing list scripts have undergone a very significant rewrite, and now use the new PostgreSQL membership database. This means that you no longer have to log into the members area of the old web site in order to update mailing list subscription information. The new server also boasts significantly improved spam filtering.
This new server is a Cobalt RaQ2, with a 250MHz MIPS R5000 CPU, 256MB of RAM, and a 10GB hard drive.
