As a non-for-profit corporation, LOSURS is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Among other business, the AGM includes elections for half of the Board of Directors, and the presenting of the corporation's financial statements for the preceding fiscal year.
Our 2009 AGM took place behind schedule on Sunday, March 21st, 2010 at 1:30pm in the board room at Access Communications (2250 Park Street).
Elections for the Board of Directors
LOSURS directors are elected for two-year terms, and the terms are staggered so that half of the board is up for re-election each year. We had five nominees, so an election was required. The new board members elected were Ken Mclennan, Trista Wallebeck, and Scott Wunsch. Existing board members Bill Brown, Bernie Cohen, and Alex Marz have another year remaining on their terms. In the end, the new LOSURS Board of Directors is as follows:
The LOSURS Secretary, Alex Marz, has prepared the usual set of financial statements for the fiscal year ending September 30th, 2009. In addition to the copy available online, printed copies were be distributed at the AGM. A motion was passed at the AGM to clean up the financial statements, and present them to the membership again.
In keeping with the decision made at a previous AGM, this year our financial statements have also been checked over by an external party.
Complete minutes of the meeting are available for members' perusal.
